The Federal Period
This visit to Gore Place for upper elementary school students focuses on the formative years of the young United States , 1780-1820, as explored through Christopher Gore and Robert Roberts.
The 1½ hour program includes tours of the mansion and carriage house, and activities with collection items and primary sources. Themes explored are politics, servants' roles, and the growing United States economy. This field trip complements and enhances the free packet of enrichment materials The Federal Period: Shaping a Nation 1780-1820 and the living history performance Robert Roberts: Author and Abolitionist . This program has strong connections to the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks .

$5 per student, $80 minimum. Maximum
24 students.
Two chaperones for every 10 students
admitted at no charge. Additional
chaperones pay regular adult admission.
