About Jane Austen
Few writers of any era have written more insightfully or entertainingly on the subject of romantic love than has Jane Austen. During these special tours of the beautiful 1806 mansion, a guide dressed in period clothing will use quotes from Austen's novels and letters to describe the triumphs and foibles of love in Austen's time. The English tradition of afternoon tea plays an important part in Austen's novels.

The English author Jane Austen lived from 1775 to 1817. Christopher and Rebecca Gore lived in England from 1796 to 1804. The grand mansion they built in Waltham, Massachusetts in 1806 features both French and English influence in the design and greatly resembles the manor houses described in Austen's novels.
