Take a Walk
Monday through Friday, 10:00 am-3:00 pm and Saturdays from 12:00 to 3:00 pm (must reserve by 2:00 pm.)

Explore the open spaces and hidden places on 48 acres of land. Children and their accompanying adults can rent activity backpacks and take a self-guided tour of the farm and grounds. Each backpack contains binoculars, a magnifying glass, and seasonal activities appropriate for children ages 3-8. Special backpack topics, such as Archaeology, Raised Garden Beds, and Architecture are also available, seasonally, for elementary school-aged children. Call Gore Place to inquire about availability of special backpacks. Currently, the Take A Walk activity is winter related. Free parking. Just ring the bell at the Mansion to get your backpack and begin your adventure! One-hour backpack rental is $5.

sheepPreschool Story Time: Sheep
Wednesday, April 8th at 10:00 am

Sheep have been important to humans for thousands of years. During this Preschool Story Time, we will learn about the lives of sheep and how they are cared for at Gore Place. We will read books in the mansion about sheep and will make wooly crafts. Afterward, we will visit the farm to watch how the sheep behave. The sheep will be just as curious about us as we are about them!

Toddler Time on the Farm
Wednesday, April 15, 10:00 to 11:00 am

Toddler Time on the Farm at Gore Place: outdoor fun and education for two-year-olds on a farm with chickens, pigs, and sheep.  Learn how they live, what they eat, and why they are important on the farm.  Help out with the farm work by planting seeds, watering raised beds, and picking vegetables.  There will be a different focus each month, with new stories, songs, and activities.  The dates are 4/15, 5/13, 6/17, 7/15, 8/19, and 9/16.
Children age two, with an adult.  $10 per child. Free for Family Level Members.  Reservations are required by April 14th.  Maximum 10 children.  No older siblings please.  For information, email  or call (781) 894-2798.
