Take a Walk
Explore the open spaces and hidden places on 48 acres of land. Children and their accompanying adults can rent activity backpacks and take a self-guided tour of the farm and grounds. Each backpack contains binoculars, a magnifying glass, and seasonal activities appropriate for children ages 3-8. Special backpack topics, such as Archaeology, Raised Garden Beds, and Architecture are also available, seasonally, for elementary school-aged children. Call Gore Place to inquire about availability of special backpacks. Currently, the Take A Walk activity is winter related. Free parking. Just ring the bell at the Mansion to get your backpack and begin your adventure! One-hour backpack rental is $5.

A Spirited Preschool Storytime at Gore Place for Halloween
Join us for a special morning of Halloween fun in the Mansion. Wear your costume and hear silly stories, go on an outdoor pumpkin hunt, then make a monster to take home. Maximum 10 children. $10 per child. Members and accompanying adults free. Sign-up today! Halloween Wagon Rides
Take a wagon ride, hear fun music, listen to a Halloween story, and help make a scarecrow at the annual Halloween Wagon Rides. This event is just right for kids up to about 8 years old. Admission is $5 all ages. Members free. No reservations necessary.

Preschool Activity: fall
Our Take a Walk backpacks are full of fun fall activities, waiting for you and your child to join us at a special program.  You’ll start in the Mansion with a story, then go outside and begin exploring together.  There’ll be time for you and your child to explore on your own using the binoculars, magnifying glass and other fun stuff in the bags. Activities include identifying leaves, learning how the squirrel family prepares for winter, visiting the animals at the farm, building a Gore Place mansion with blocks and more. Maximum 10 children. $10 per child, ages 3 and 4 with an adult, free for members at Family level and above. Reserve by November 4. Santa Tea
Children and adults will enjoy a traditional tea of scones, sandwiches, and sweets, do a crafts activity, and have a visit from Santa with songs and stories. Tickets are $35 per person all ages, $30 members. Tickets must be purchased at least one week prior to your tea. Times and details .

Preschool Story Time: winter
Join in a story time all about winter. You'll hear stories, do an activity and view the mansion. This event is for children ages 3 and 4 and their accompanying adults. Tickets are $10 per child. Adults and members at the Family level and above are free. Limit 10 children. Reservations must be made by December 16. To reserve, email susankatz@goreplace.org .
