FARM FESTIVAL for the WHOLE FAMILY!

Taking place over several acres of the governor Gore estate, the annual Sheepshearing Festival has long been a New England tradition. There will be all sorts of activities and demonstrations to enjoy, lively music, dancers, performers, historic recreators, farm animals, wagon rides, and a large crafts fair. There will be plenty of food vendors onsite as well.

DIRECTiONS: Gore Place is located at 52 Gore Street in Waltham, Massachusetts just off Route 20.
From I-90 (Mass Pike) take exit 17 to Watertown Square. Turn left onto Route 20 (Main Street). Travel 1~1/4 miles to Gore Street. From Route 128/I-95 exit 26 to Route 20 east (Main Street) 3~1/2 miles to Gore Street. See map.

In the shearing tents, shearers Andy Rice and Kevin Ford demonstrate both modern and traditional shearing techniques.

Dave Kennard and his herding dogs give demonstrations of how a shepherd and his dogs control and move a flock of sheep.

The crafts fair offers hand-crafted goods for sale by some of the regions finest crafters.

In addition, visitors can see a demonstrations by spinners, weavers and other fiber artists.

Tractor-drawn wagon rides circle the farm fields and the ground-floor of the mansion is available for a self-guided house tour, both at an additional charge.

Waltham Garden Club

The Waltham Garden Club offers gardening activities for children and adults.
