A Jane Austen Garden Party

Outdoors Under the Century Tent at Gore Place

Sunday, September 13, 2020 from 2 to 4 pm

Join us for an afternoon Jane Austen would have loved, in the 19th-century setting of Gore Place fit for one of the celebrated author’s famous novels. Enjoy sweets and savories, sip on lemonade or wine (pinot grigio or white zinfandel), play some lawn games or try your hand at archery. Take in an outdoor guided tour and learn about the estate’s similarities to the places in Austen’s novels.

Your event ticket includes: An individual showcase box with sweets and savories from Vicki Lee’s Bakeshop of Belmont, a bottle of Vicki Lee’s lemonade or iced tea (plus a mini bottle of wine—$10 extra), an archery lesson led by On the Mark Archery, lawn games, and an outdoor guided tour of the Gore estate.

Costumes encouraged, masks required. Tables and chairs provided, but you may bring your own lawn chairs or picnic blankets. Ample free parking. Accessible, modern indoor restrooms will be available.

Ticket prices:

Without wine: $35 per person, $30 Gore Place members.
With wine: $45 per person, $40 Gore Place members. 

This event is designed for adults. Space is limited. Advance online reservations required by Tuesday, September 8, 2020. If you require an accommodation so you may more fully participate in this event, please contact us as soon as possible by email at marketing@goreplace.org.

Coronavirus safety precautions at this event:

  • We will provide hand sanitizing stations.
  • Masks are required. All guests must wear masks or face coverings while not socially distancing.
  • All staff and volunteers will wear masks or face coverings.
  • Capacity of the tent will not exceed 50 people.
  • Tables and chairs will be spread out in the tent to maintain social distancing.
  • Guests must sit within their own party, at least six feet away from other guests not in their party.
  • Guests may bring their own lawn chairs or blankets to sit on the lawn outside the tent.

Cost: Without wine: $35 per person, $30 Gore Place members. With wine: $45 per person, $40 Gore Place members.
